ANIMA.COOP, a new web site for our network.
ANIMA web site has been completely revamped to become a real window on the Mediterranean business. Beside giving access to the information on the business environment in the region, and all resources developed within the ANIMA project, the new site features a business opportunities publication service, a liaison service between investors and IPAs, and a "partners" extranet to contribute to the web site content and communicate with the network.

ANIMA involved in two meetings on innovation in november
ANIMA is coordinating the organisation of the annual conference of the Medibtikar programme -Euromed Innovation Technology- held in Cairo, Egypt on the 7th and 8th november 2007. The topic of the conference is the creation of Euromed networks for technology transfer. Moreover the Medinnov network, of which ANIMA is founding member, is having its annual forum in Marseille on the 20th november 2007. The main stakes for innovation territories will be reviewed: education, financing of companies, link research - enterprises, urban integration.

Algeria - Real estate
Emirati realty giant Emaar announced the development of four mixed-use projects worth 42 billion euros.

Egypt - Real estate
The UAE-based group Majid Al Futtaim plans to invest 1.6 billion euro over the next 5 years in 12 new outlets distributing commodities.

Israel - Agrofood industry
Swiss Syngenta acquiring Zeraim Gedera, specialised in seeds for vegetables and field crops, for US$ 95 million.

Jordan - Construction
The construction company GAMA is the winning bidder of the 400 millions US$ Disi water conveyance project. It will run it for a period of 40 years.

Libya - Bank
BNP Paribas becomes the first foreign bank to develop full service banking activities in the country after wining the international bid for a 19% stake in Sahara Bank for 145 million euro.

Lebanon - Franchises
UAE-based Gourmet Gulf Company announces US$40 Million expansion plan, including Lebanon and Egypt.

Morocco - Automobile industry
The Renault Nissan alliance committed to creating the largest vehicle manufacturing facility in the Mediterranean, located in Tangiers free zone.

Syria - Bank
The holding Investment Dar expands its banking activities by creating the first Islamic bank in Syria with a capital of SYP 5 billion.

Tunisia - Technology
The Spanish group Satec (advanced technology systems) acquires a 70% stake in Tunisian technological company Netcom.

Turkey - Distribution
The real estate developer Corio (Nederland) will invest USD 500 million in 6 new shopping malls to be built by 2009.

Morocco – The foreign investors plebiscite the Tangier free zone (TFZ)
92% of the investors based in TFZ declare themselves satisfied with the quality of the services offered and 93% are ready to recommend the free zone to other operators.
