ANIMA Consortium 2002-2007

The ANIMA project has been carried out by a Euro-Mediterranean consortium made up of the following entities : the Invest in France Agency (AFII, France), the « Istituto nazionale per il Commercio Estero » (ICE, Italia) and the Directorate for Investments (DI, Morocco). This project is now finished, but a new organisation has been set up soon in order to continue the ANIMA work.

AFII (France)

AFII is the co-ordinator of the ANIMA project, selected because of its competence and the good French performance as regards attracting foreign investment. In France AFII is the national organisation in charge of promotion, prospecting and reception of international investments. The Agency is in particular charged with organising the co-ordination between companies, local communities, development agencies, administrations, and consultants to facilitate the reception of international investments.

The Agency works in close partnership with the investment promotion agencies at the regional and local level and with all the partners concerned. The objective is to bring the best possible service to the investor, before the decision to invest and afterwards to ensure the necessary follow-up.

The Agency has a team of multidisciplinary specialists in its Paris headquarters and in its international network formed comprising almost twenty offices in North America, Europe and Asia.
 
DI (Maroc)

The Department of Investments (DI) is the government agency responsible for promoting investment in Morocco. The DI welcomes, orients and assists foreign investors; it also instigates agreements between the Government and national and foreign companies wishing to invest in the country.

The department’s mission includes a communications initiative that aims to promote partnerships between local and foreign companies and publicize local investment opportunities. The DI works in close cooperation with the institutions that conduct studies and analyses, in order to ensure quality, reliable and up-to-date information on a national scale, in the field of investment.

ICE (Italia)

ICE (Italian Institute for Foreign Trade) is the public-sector body whose task is the promotion, facilitation and development of commerce between Italy and the rest of the world, thereby encouraging the internationalization of Italian companies, in particular small and medium sized enterprises, and their taking root in foreign markets. The Institute, headquartered in Rome, has 16 offices in Italy and a network of more than 100 offices worldwide.

ICE is patronized and financed by the Ministry of Production Activities, and it offers the following, promotional services :

- Market Information
Help to companies entering and taking root in new markets through four types of services: market research, help in finding a trading partner, company promotion, localised operational assistance.
 

 

- Promotional activity to create greater awareness of the Made in Italy brand overseas
ICE, through participation in international exhibitions, trade missions, conventions, publicity campaigns and other initiatives from the public Promotional Programme, intensifies business opportunities and supports the establishment of companies in new markets, reinforces the image of the Made in Italy brand and promotes industrial collaboration and foreign investment in Italy. In addition, ICE enters into programme agreements with the Italian Regions, with the aim of facilitating the process of internationalization of the crafts sector, of SMEs and of specific production sectors.
- Multilateral cooperation
ICE assists Italian companies in the area of international cooperation so as to facilitate access to financing from international organisations and to stimulate joint venture opportunities and industrial and technological partnerships. A further role of ICE is the promotion of alliances with companies from beneficiary countries for combined participation in tenders, personalised assistance of ICE officials in the headquarters of international organisations, the launching of contacts with financing bodies and with the organisations responsible in the various countries.
