Five United Nations agencies (ILO, ITC, UNCTAD, UNDP and UNIDO) decided to support a new initiative, led by the International Islamic Finance Corporation (ITFC), dedicated to work on a Pan-Arab Free Trade Zone to develop the trade capacity and promote economic cooperation of Arab countries.
This ambition, which should boost economic growth and employment in the MENA region, has several goals joining on the setting up of a sustainable growth: diverify Arab economies, foster entrepreneurial potential and young talents, develop competitiveneness in the region and give women and men the economic opportunities they need to increase their living standards.
