Consulting firm WorleyParsons will be in charge of preparing the creation of the first Jordanian nuclear power plant by providing technology and engineering assistance. The company will prepare the tender and evaluate future bidders.
According to the Jordan Times, 'earlier this year, WorleyParsons was named the consultant for Egypt's first nuclear power plant, a 1,200MW reactor. [...] Regionally, WorleyParsons has been involved in energy megaprojects in Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Yemen, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.'
Amman aims at producing 60% of the country's energy needs by 2035.
