Brussels and Beirut have agreed to sign 3 important financial accords, amounting to EUR42m. After years of political unrest, Lebanon is now experiencing a period of stability thanks to the support of the international community. According to ANSAmed the three funding agreements aim at:
1. Strengthening the private sector (EUR14m). This loan is dedicated to increase support to business, especially by improving the innovation and the modernisation of the national system of quality management.
2. Supporting local development in North Lebanon for (EUR18m). The two parties are willing to boost the sectors of agriculture, environment and infrastructure in Northern Lebanon, especially in the region of Akkar.
3. Modernising the judicial system by supporting the constitutional order and contributing to the modernisation of the Lebanese legal system. |
