With its new Manisa-based plant, Schneider will 'strengthen Turkey’s role as a global production and export base'.
The choice of Turkey has been highly motivated by the “country’s position as a developing market in the global economy”, according to Hurryiet Daily News.
This new regional unit focuses on renewable-energy resources and offers 'efficiency savings of 30 % to energy and infrastructure, industry, residential building automation and data-center markets, which constitute 72 percent of global energy consumption.'
With its Manisa plant, scheduled to start operation by end 2010, Schneider intends to become 'a global production and export base' with a view to exporting 'anywhere in the world, including Europe, North Africa and the United States'. The company is investing EUR15M in the Manisa plant.
