Israel moves up 3 places in overall 2007 IMD World Competitiveness Rank - 14 May 2007

According to Invest in Israel:

"Israel ranked 6th for its proportion of direct foreign investment to GDP after climbing 29 places from its position the previous year. For the second consecutive year, Israel has the largest percentage per capita devoted to R&D. Israel ranked 2nd in the amount of funds that were raised for start-up companies, up from 6th last year and is ranked 2nd for its Information Technology sector. Israel moved 8 points in the business efficiency ranking. Israel's overall ranking in the World Competitiveness Yearbook is now 21st place. The International Institute for Management Development, located in Switzerland, annually releases its respected World Competitiveness Yearbook which ranks 55 countries based on 323 different economic criteria."
