As usual, more than 50% of the recorded flows are directed toward the energy sector, with two predominant projects: the launch of the production phase in the Menzel Ledjmet East field by the Italian ENI as well as a capital increase by the Spanish petrochemical group Fertiberia in its Algerian subsidiary Fertial.
Projects identified in metallurgy also occupied an important place in 2013 FDI intentions share: 6 projects totalling €308 million are recorded, starting by the development by Qatar Steel and Qatar Mining of a steel complex in the Jijel region and followed by the extension of the El Hadjar site by ArcelorMittal.
