INNOVATION – 3 start-ups supported by THE NEXT SOCIETY selected at BigBooster in Lyon

Three MENA start-ups supported by THE NEXT SOCIETY at the Lyon Booster Camp have been selected to access the second phase of the acceleration programme. Congratulations to Carpolo, Slighter (Lebanon) and (Morocco)!

The Big Booster Camp event took place on 14-16 november 2017 in Lyon. Seven start-ups from the MENA region supported by THE NEXT SOCIETY were encouraged to participate, three of them have been selected to move on to the second phase of the acceleration programme.


In total, 44 start-ups were selected at the Big Booster Camp following the pitching contest. They will be joining the Booster Hub as well as a three-week incubation hosted by a support organisation or a private group in France, according to their needs. This second cycle will culminate in a Demo Day to select those who will be invited to the international bootcamps in Boston (USA) and China.


BigBooster is a member of THE NEXT SOCIETY, and one of the International Acceleration Bootcamps offered within the Start-up Booster Track. The Start-up Booster Track is a flexible support programme for entrepreneurs in the MENA region with the aim of supporting them to bridge with key markets: Europe/Africa/Gulf Countries/USA. Here is a brief description of the winners:


Carpolo (Global Impact/Transport & Mobility) is a smart carpooling platform from Lebanon with a gamified points reward system and analytics tools to promote carpooling for communities. For more information on this innovative start-up you can visit their website, and follow every updates on Twitter.


Slighter (Bio & Health/e-health) is also a Lebanese start-up who has developed a smart chemical free lighter connected to your mobile device that will assist you to reduce and quit smoking. The call for applications in the MENA countries was facilitated by THE NEXT SOCIETY partners: CONECT and APII in Tunisia, Berytech in Lebanon, TIEC in Egypt, Arabreneur in Palestine & Jordan, Start-up Maroc in Morocco.
