A Syrian Investment Promotion Agency to be set up soon |
New measures passed at the end of 2006/ beginning of 2007 called for the creation of an investment authority to operate under the prime minister's office. This new administrative body should be launched in 2007. Meanwhile, an Investment Bureau will continue to act as the main front office for facilitating FDI projects.
It is worth mentioning that the Syrian Investment Bureau introduced a “one-stop-shop” service that facilitates the administrative procedures for setting up a company. The only formal condition to benefit from this service is for a company to have a minimal capital of US$ 200,000. |
