ALGERIA - Turning Alger into a smart city thanks to startups

Alger water and sanitation company SEAAL inked a partnerhip on 11 May 2017 with several startups in order to launch a collaborative project and support the emergence of innovative urban solutions.


The first agreement was concluded between SEAAL and the start-up Acquasafe, which develops an environment monitoring system designed for water treatment and pumping stations. The second agreement targets a healthcare electronic platform and involves KBM and AFind, whose website provides a doctor directory .

 

The wali of Algiers, Abdelkader Zoukh, stated that "Algiers needs start-ups to transform the capital into a smart city" and reported that the wilaya had created incubators to promote entrepreuneurshp among young academics, including Algerian people living abroad.
