PROJECTS -Launch of Invest in Med
The consortium led by ANIMA
and composed of BusinessMed, Eurochambres, ASCAME, UNIDO, GTZ and Euroméditerranée launched “Invest in Med” on 18 April 2008. It is a €12 million project, co-financed at 75% by the European Commission. Invest in Med aims at encouraging European investments in the Mediterranean region, as well as developing solid links between Med companies and their European counterparts. The project – which will run for 36 months involving the 27 EU Member States and the 9 Southern ENPI partner countries (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia) – has the ambition to foster the volume and quality of Euro-Mediterranean foreign direct investment, partnerships and trade, in order to contribute to a sustainable economic development of the area. CALL FOR IDEAS - 25 operational projects for the Mediterranean!

ANIMA and DIPLOMATIE magazine join forces to launch a call to their visitors and readers to imagine THEIR project FOR the Mediterranean basin. The project must be concrete, ‘transversal’ (multi-country) and have a significant economic impact on the sustainable development of the region. In June 2008, a selection of the 25 best operational projects will be published in a widely-distributed special issue of Enjeux Méditerranée.

Let’s give the floor to project holders. ANIMA’s and DIPLOMATIE’s objectives are really to raise the voice of ordinary citizens or groups, at grassroots level and not necessarily in the board rooms. To get more info about the call, click here.
